The Microsoft Office 2016 public preview was released on 4th May. You can download the preview here, however you will need to uninstall any older versions of Office and take note of your product key so that you can reinstall the older version of Office.
To uninstall your current version of Office you go to: Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program > Microsoft Office.
Collaborative editing has already been a feature in the online version of Office, however in Office 2016 this will be a feature on the desktop version too – at least in Word anyway. Much like Google Docs, this feature allows users to see who edited which part of the document in real time.
Office 2016 also includes the “Tell Me” feature which lets you search for commands by typing what you’re trying to do.
One-click forecasting creates forecasts on your data series with one click to future trends. Also, with integrated Power Query, you can now use Excel as your personal analysis workspace by connecting to and viewing data around you.
In Outlook there is relatively little changed however there is a new feature called Clutter. This works by analysing and learning your email pattern and moving lower priority messages into the new clutter folder.
